Our netball team took part in the Southwark Hi5 netball tournament at the end of January and we won it! We beat St James CE school in the final.
Because we won the Southwark tournament, On Thursday March 23rd, we represented the borough in the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace. The London Youth Games is Europe’ largest annual youth sports event . This is amazing considering we are a small school.
Teams from all 33 boroughs took part. Although we did not make it through to the knockout stages we came 26th overall.
The team were not only brilliant ambassadors for the school but for Southwark as a whole. They should be proud of their efforts. Wonderful work from all and a big thanks to Lyn Meade, the team’s coach.
The team was also lucky to meet Lutalo Muhammad the British Taekwondo athlete who represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics winning a bronze and silver medal. What an amazing experience for our team!
