We had an arts week starting on the 11th June using “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery as our starting point. Each class produced their own surrealist art work on canvases. In addition we used the book to inspire painting the hoardings around our new building development. Each class took a theme from the book and anyone who has read the book will recognise the themes:
- Nursery – Roses
- Reception – Sunrises and the lamplighter
- Y1 – Planets
- Y2 – Sheep
- Y3 – Foxes
- Y4 – Baobab trees
- Y5 – The inside and outside of a boa constrictor
- Y6 – Flight
The link to the Little Prince comes from Guillaume Brocart, one of our parents, who works for Montblanc. Every child in the school was given a copy of this amazing book courtesy of Montblanc. We also entered the 2018 “Ivor Goodsite” school hoardings competition and were one of the national runners up!
