Friars Primary School Governors
The governors are responsible for the overall running of the school, working in close collaboration with the headteacher and staff to ensure the school fulfils it aims. The full Governing Body meets at least once a term. There are two main committees that deal with specific work of the school (Achievement and Resources) and they meet termly. There is also a committee that meets annually to decide on the pay progression of teachers. Please click on the links below to view the committees’ terms of reference.

In 2016/2017 the committee chairs were:
- Achievement – Pauline Hinchliffe
- Resources – Caroline Gershon
- Pay – Maddy Webb
In addition there is a smaller committee that deals with specific Premisses issues and projects the chair of which is Akeem Adio.
The headteacher reports to the governing body regularly and governors visit the school to monitor leadership activity. Some governors are linked to particular aspects of the school and they meet with the relevant member of staff on a termly basis. The current link governors cover the curriculum, Early Years, finance, safeguarding and Inclusion.
